With the help of friends and donors, the Center for Conflict Resolution is addressing the role that trauma plays toward increasing the likelihood that conflict will lead to violence.
Last summer, CCR conducted its first trauma awareness and resilience training, helped former gang members and police officers work together, taught conflict resolution skills at summer youth programs and held a Peace by Piece luncheon.
The former gang members will use their new skills and understanding in their current efforts with a program that works to de-escalate gang violence. Police officers will be able to use their new skills as they face conflict throughout our city.
